If you're a sole trader, freelancer or microbusiness owner who's doing everything yourself and wondering if there's a smarter way to run things, then yes. In The Field AI is built specifically for people who work for themselves: cleaners, gardeners, dog walkers, photographers, plumbers, mobile hairdressers, riding instructors and anyone else running a one-person business without a back office. If you work from your phone, the kitchen table or the passenger seat of your van, you're exactly who this is for.

Most business advice is aimed at companies with budgets, staff and IT departments. In The Field AI is built for the rest of us. Everything here comes from my real experience of starting, running and selling small businesses, and not from a consultancy or a corporate background. It's practical, affordable, written in plain English, and designed around the reality of running a business on your own.

Yes you can! The blog is free and covers everything from AI tools to tax, admin, GDPR and general business know-how. Check out the Resources page, it’s got free to download tools specifically designed for sole traders and freelancers. The book is available on Amazon and the digital downloads are pay-per-download, so you only ever buy what you actually need.

The digital downloads are ready-to-use tools and templates that I have designed for sole traders and microbusiness owners. They include things like spreadsheets, checklists, planners and admin packs that you can pick up and use straight away. You pay per download and get instant access. No subscription, no sign-up hoops, no waiting around.

Not a thing. You don't need any technical knowledge, any previous experience with AI, or any interest in how it works under the bonnet. If a tool is useful for your business, I'll tell you what it does, how to use it and what to watch out for. If it's not worth your time, I'll tell you that too. AI is just one part of what's here, there's plenty that has nothing to do with it.

Mostly general business stuff, with AI as one of the tools in the box rather than the whole point. You'll find advice on admin, tax, GDPR, business systems, marketing and more, alongside guidance on where AI can genuinely help and where it probably can't. The clue is in the name, but don't let it put you off if tech isn't your thing.
-
Absolutely. In fact, getting the right systems in place early is one of the best things you can do for a new business. A lot of what's here is aimed specifically at people in the early stages, before the admin piles up and the plates start wobbling. The free assessment is a good place to start if you're not sure where to begin.

I’ll never ask you to sign up to any third-party tools. I will talk about them and honestly list the pros and cons. Where a tool requires sign-up I'll always say so upfront, explain what you're signing up for, and give you an alternative if there is one. I run this website entirely independently and I’m not affiliated to any other business.
